Google: BlueStacks ‘Player’ Brings Android Apps To The PC

Would you use apps for a Google (GOOG) “Android” phone on your PC?

Well, now you can. Startup BlueStacks announced today they’ve made available for download their “App Player,” which will run most of the available Android apps in full screen on a Windows PC. (The company plans a future version for Macintosh.)

The technology involves porting Android run-time code to Windows to make the platform available to the apps. There’s a mobile app you can load on your Android phone to tell check off which apps you’ve already downloaded you would like to have BlueStacks push to your PC.

The basic version of the Player allows 26 apps to be installed. To get an unlimited number of apps on your PC, you’ve got to upgrade to the “premium” version, which is in alpha stage at the moment. Pricing for that version has not yet been announced.
