Longer Lines For DisneyWorld? Orlando Air Traffic Up

Spring is upon us, but some people cant wait for warm weather to creep northward: Orlando Airport released traffic data for February and recorded growth from both domestic and international flights.

According to the data, domestic traffic increased 4.6% year-over-year, better than the 4.3% growth the airport recorded in 2011. Yet international flights saw the biggest bump, increasing 13.9% year-over-year; last February international flights crept up just 0.7%. Overall traffic was up 5.5%.

While the increase in traffic could easily translate into greater visitation at Disneys (DIS) theme parks, Citi analyst Jason Bazinet reiterated his Neutral rating on the stock following the news. The traffic data for February is positive, particularly for domestic traffic, which has been soft during recent months. Should the increase in traffic persist, this could portend improved attendance at domestic Parks. However, we maintain our Neutral rating as we believe further upside from current levels would require investors to reward Disney with a premium multiple to media peers.

In recent trading Disney was up 0.8%.
