Baidu� (NASDAQ: BIDU ) has just launched a second security offering, called Baidu Antivirus 2013. Slated to remain permanently free, it's available in English and is compatible with a wide variety of operating systems, from Windows XP to Windows 8.
While Baidu Antivirus appears customized to deal with customers' security issues, it seems similar to past offerings.
Back in January, Baidu launched Baidu PC Faster, a software suite designed to fix speed and performance issues. In the process, it completes a "Cloud Security" scan. Moreover, when Baidu PC Faster was launched, it came in both Thai and English. Baidu Antivirus comes only in English. Interested consumers can also download Baidu PC Faster for free, but it's compatible with Windows only up to Windows 7.
